Careers – Construction Manager
Reporting to the VP Construction, the Construction Manager directs and coordinates the different members of project’s construction team and is ultimately responsible for the overall management and execution of superior quality construction projects and ultimate client satisfaction.
REPONSIBILITIES:
- Source, coordinate and manage (with the site superintendent) all the labor, material and logistics required for the timely construction of a project;
- Estimate, administer and control the project’s construction costs;
- Elaborate, monitor and update the construction schedule as the work progresses;
- Negotiate, award and administer subcontracts;
- Review, coordinate and update construction plans and shop drawings;
- Prepare, manage and administer change directives and change orders;
- Coordinate and direct site meetings with professionals and subcontractors;
- Maintain timely and continuous communications with subcontractors, professionals and client;
- Perform all other tasks related to properly managing a construction project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree;
- Minimum 5 years experience managing Canadian construction projects;
- Strong management, negotiating, communication and;
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, initiative, motivation and leadership abilities;
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office and MS Project.
